Snapchat

Snapchat came to us looking for a partner to help produce a variety of social content for their Snap AR and Spectacles divisions. I led the motion and contributed to design direction, pitching recurring series, producing weekly content, and helping define the brands visual language.

1 Project, 2 Brands:

An interesting aspect of this project was the need to create content for both Snap AR and Spectacles. Early on, we defined the look and feel of each of these brands and they couldnt be more different.

Recurring Series:

We pitched and developed a handful of recurring series for both Snap AR and Spectacles, that we would produce on a bi-monthly basis and continue to improve and iterate on over the course of the project.

Workflow:

As the volume and complexity of content grew, we had to adapt and find a way to create tons of assets quickly. Instead of designing objects in 3d like we had at the beginning of the project, we began generating most of our atmospheric imagery in AI and then bringing into AE to animate.

Motion Guidelines:

Before handing off the project to Snap's internal team, I built this set of motion guidelines to provide some structure for future motion designers working on the content. Due to the breadth of the work, these guidelines lean more conceptual, defining principles and patterns.
